Control of Your Own Personal Injury Compensation Claim

Control of Your Own Personal Injury Compensation Claim.

Basically you have two choices when it comes to the question of control
over your personal injury claim.

You can give up control to  solicitors or law firm and leave them to
determine the priority of your personal injury  claim within a backlog of other claims.

Alternatively, you can take control of your personal injury claim from the date of the
accident until final conclusion when your cheque is delivered.

A lot of people give up control and leave the work up to their
solicitors assuming they know best. This is not always the case as standard of
professionalism varies from one firm to another.

Even when it is left up to solicitors to handle your claim you will
find that a significant amount of the work is still left up to you.

You will have to provide a detailed account of the accident
circumstances and your version of events will be tested throughout the duration of
the personal injury claim as and when further information is provided by the other
side.

You will be expected to provide details of witnesses to verify your
version of the events. You will be required to attend the solicitors
office to consult over the medical report. You may be required to attend
two or more medical examinations.

You will have to obtain and provide wages information and other
receipts such as physiotherapy and travelling expenses.

Your solicitors will sit back in his office and wait for you reply to
his letters and provide all this information on a timely basis.

And if any of the information gets lost in the post or mislaid by his
secretary you will have to provide it all over again.

You will then have the pleasure after all this of chasing him up for
an update of your personal injury claim. In the majority of instances you will get his
secretary but she is neither qualified nor authorised to provide the
detailed information you require.

So you will have to wait until he gets back to you at his own
convenience and your stress level will definitely be heightened.

Is this really how you want your personal injury compensation claim
conducted over a period of 18 months to 3 years, in some cases longer
depending on the nature of your injuries?
